I don’t have a real pet – so mama buys me painted stones that I want from the Farmer’s Market – I already have a turtle, a mouse with cheese – now I have a rabbit as well.  Do you like my rabbit – Kai mah?

Today was the last day of summer camp – and we had a party in the evening – and I was supposed to go up the stage and say thank you to all my leaders/councilors for taking care of me during the summer – and then to give them a gift certificate to eat lunch at Rudder’s.  But when I went up to the stage – I froze up and didn’t say a thing except thank you.  Even with mama on the stage with me – i refused to say anything – I was terrified big time and was sweating a little bit.  But the leaders were grateful for the gift certificate and came to thank mama for it.  I asked mama why we have to give gift certificate while no one else does – and mama said it’s a nice thing to do for the people who took care of me – the entire summer – and gave me so much fun.

Today I received a postcard from Newfoundland – from my best friend Shiny Josh !  I was very excited and mama said I should read the postcard on my own.  Shiny Josh wrote everything by himself – I was impressed – I thought his mom wrote the card for him – but mama said nope – Josh wrote it.

There are lots of icebergs in Newfoundland according to Papa and Shiny Josh’s mother – one day – we will go visit Newfoundland with Shiny Josh and his family.  Thank you, Shiny Josh !  see yer soon!

So I went to Ellenwood Park for a swim and picnic with my summer day camp – this was the first time for me to go to the lake without mama and daddy or my grammie and grampie.  I did have a good time except a sucker got me – a leech – and it terrified me.  The leaders put some salt on my legs and the leech came out – they don’t like salt.  And then they put a plaster on my toes and even though i cried and asked for mama – they didn’t call mama for me.  I came home in this big bus – and I loved it – because it had a tv in it.

I don’t think I wanna go to the Ellenwood park again – because they don’t have toilets – they have outhouses and it was darn stinky!  I didn’t use the toilet the entire day – and mama said – it was alright – I don’t have to go to Ellenwood park again with the camp.

I went to the doctor’s yesterday after using the puffer for a week – and mama’s friend asked me why I smell so nice – when we met at the doctor’s office and I told her – that daddy said I was using a magic potion/lotion that makes my skin shiny and smell nice – and she asked me what was the magic potion called.  I told her I don’t know – and that she got to ask my mama about it.  I went back to the store at night and told mama about it and I asked mama what was the magic potion called – mama was confused.  I told her that was what daddy called it – a magic potion – and she said – ooooo – you mean – Johnson baby lotion?  I said probably and asked mama what she used – what was her magic potion ?  because mama always smell very nice too – and mama said it’s called pure fiji – so the next time – when I see mama’s friend – I will remember that – and tell her it’s called pure fiji because mama smells like coconut.

Summer is the best time for me – no school and we do a lot of stuff here in this town during the summer – and watching the Seafest parade is my favorite.  I didn’t go to Grammie’s because I wanted to watch the parade.  So here I am having a sucker that I got from the parade.

It was a very humid day – and there’s Gary – our customer singing on a float.

And the pipe pipers – in skirts – mama said in Scotland – the men wear this very often – it’s an Irish thing.  But I think that kilt is made out of the 250 Anniversary of the town – it’s tartan i think – but don’t quote mama wasn’t quite sure either.

We have the ladies from the Bank of Montreal – I save my money there too – my college fund.  Everyone was on Main street enjoying the parade – this year there was no fights – and everything went pretty smoothly.

Every year during the Summer fest in town – they have this Mackerel throw – and every year the summer camp will bring us to the waterfront to watch it.  Last year – I was so sick – watching it and smelling the bad mackerel that I wanna throw up – but this year I did good.  No throwing up – so mama didn’t have to bring me back to the store – i stayed till the end of the Mackerel throw.

The mackerel throw is about these people dressing up like Fishermen and they start throwing mackerel at each other and then the other tries to catch it – the team that catches the most wins.  But you have to get dress into the fishermen costume and rain coat before you can climbed into the bucket and start throwing and catching.

My camp leaders also took part in the mackerel throw and they did win something – they had very good coordination – mama said.  It was a hot and humid day – after the mackerel throw – we all went to Toots and mama bought everyone a freezie as a treat !  hurray for mama!

So mama decided that it was ok for me to join the children’s parade this year with my summer camp folks because she found out that the walk wasn’t as long as she thought it would be.  So I was all excited on Thursday morning and put on my tie dye t-shirt made by the camp leaders as soon as I got into the camp.

I have my water bottle with me – mama had forgotten to give me the one Kai Mah bought for me – because the camp leaders had told her they were bringing a wagon – but they didn’t and mama had wanted to keep my water cold.

We headed to Frost park for the mayor’s tea party – but it was nothing special – so next year – I might not go for the parade but watch it from the store.   But mama said it was good to try everything at least once.

I love playing with sparklers but only in the summer – I get to play it and when daddy is home because mama doesn’t like to be out in the backyard for there are plenty of bugs around.  So I wait till daddy get home from work and we go light up a few sparklers.   This week – I had a neighbor come and play with me – and I had so much fun.  Maybe – next week more kids will come play with me.

The weather was splendid today  – so mama said – lets go to the lighthouse and visit the huge chair – hahah!  because she wanted to take pictures of the huge chair.
